Tom A. Smith, 79, passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at his residence. He was born in Lima on June 17, 1942 to Ellis H. and Ruth (Woodwurth) Smith who preceded him in death. He was married on April 4, 1970 to Kathryn "Kate" (Granger) Smith and she survives him.
His survivors include his children, a son, Med Ellis Smith, his daughters, Mary Ann Stein and Melissa Harruff all of Delphos. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his siblings: sisters, Helen Osman, Betty Snapp and Wanda Glasser; his brothers, Roger Smith and Robert Smith. He is also predeceased by his stepsisters: Dorothy Frank and Jean Hoagland and his stepbrothers: Homer Miller, Walter Schultz and Paul Schultz.
Tom as a member of Landeck St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He was employed at Unverferth Manufacturing for over 40 years working as a machinist. He was a member of the American Legion Post 268 where he enjoyed working at the fish fries. He enjoyed tractor pulls and racing but he most enjoyed spending time with all of his family.
His Funeral Mass will be Monday, October 18, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at Landeck St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Family and friends may call Sunday, at the Weber Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. with a Parish Wake at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
