Sharon A. Brickner, 77, of Ottoville, was greeted by the open arms of Jesus as He welcomed her into His kingdom on Wednesday, November 2, 2022.  She died at National Church Residence Harmony Trace in Hilliard.

She was born March 15, 1945, in Celina to Ralph W. and Betty A. (Smith) Wieman who both preceded her in death. On June 4, 1966, she married the love of her life Ralph W. Brickner who preceded her in death on April 3, 2019.

Sharon is survived by a daughter, Laura L. (Daniel) McDowell who survives in Columbus; three brothers, Ralph Wieman of Churubusco, IN, Dana (Joanne) Wieman of Delphos, and Neil Wieman of Middle Point; two sisters, Marilyn (Stanton) Knowles of Kalida and Joann (Jed) Gerdeman of Ottoville; and six grandchildren, Andrew James (Jessica) Brickner, Conner Brickner and Marissa Brickner all of Evansville, IN; Hannah McDowell, Lydia McDowell and Ruth McDowell, all of Columbus; and a great-granddaughter, Riley Brickner.

Also preceding Sharon in death was a son, Kevin Brickner; a niece, Leigha Wieman; a nephew, Eric Ellerbrock; sisters-in-law Doris (Arnold) Ricker, Loretta Shaffer and Sister Catherine Brickner, CPPS; and a brother-in-law, Clifford Brickner,

Sharon was a devout catholic and a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville.  She was a lector and a communion distributor for the church until the ravages of Alzheimer’s Disease kept her from doing the things she loved to do.  After 35 years, Sharon retired from Central Mutual Insurance where she was a senior claims representative.   She enjoyed traveling, playing pinochle, bowling, going to casinos with her sisters, knitting and cross stitch.  Above all else, she loved to spend time with her grandchildren and family.

A Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 5 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. Fr. George Mahas will be officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
