Robert Joseph “Bob” Carder, 70 of Fleming Island, FL (Boca Raton, FL) passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2020. Mr. Carder was born to the late Donald J. and Lucille Hofstetter Carder in Lima, Ohio, was of the Catholic Faith, and an Ohio State Buckeye fan. After growing up in Delphos, Ohio, Bob entered the US Navy before being discharged and moving to Dayton. While living in Dayton, Bob married his wife of 48 years, Toni. He was employed with Ohio Bell, Southern Bell after moving to Boca Raton, Florida and retired from AT&T for a total of 31 years. During his work years, he was active in the Union CWA 3104 where he served as a Representative, Executive Vice-President and as President during the 1980s. Bob had a love for politics and would try and convince you that his side was right.
In his retirement years, Bob enjoyed golf, boating, fishing; but his real enjoyment came when he was able to spend time with his grandson, Ryan. Ryan meant the world to his “Pops” and was Bob’s reason for bragging of what Ryan accomplished through sports and in life; Bob was proud to be his Grandpa. Bob will be missed by everyone who knew him.
