DELPHOS – Ralph D. ‘Cob’ Kaverman, 88, of Delphos, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Roselawn Manor in Spencerville.
He was born January 15, 1934, in Landeck to the late Matthias and Theresa (Laudick) Kaverman. On November 25, 1961, he married Margaret Ann (Cross) Kaverman who survives in Delphos.
Ralph is also survived by his son, Roger (Tara) Kaverman of Delphos; daughters, Brenda (Doug) Metzger, Deanne (Tim) Schwinnen and Annette (Scot) Cox all of Delphos; a brother, Donald Kaverman of Delphos; sister-in-law, Helen Kaverman of Delphos; grandchildren, Kristen (Jesse) Curtis, Andrew Metzger, Brett (Katrina) Schwinnen, Samantha (Kyle) Staup, Troy Schwinnen, Emma, Ryan and Tyler Kaverman, Brooke Richardson, Caitlin and Nora Cox; and great-grandchildren, Emmitt and Colette Curtis and Cooper Schwinnen.
He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Kaverman, Hubert Kaverman, Paul Kaverman and John Kaverman; and sisters, Angela Kemper and Catherine Kaverman.
Ralph was a graduate of Delphos St. John’s. He was retired from the Delphos Ready Mix/Concrete Plant, last known as Vetter’s Concrete, where he had worked all his life. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. He was an Auxiliary member of the Delphos V.F.W. #3035 and a member of Delphos Eagles Aerie 471, and a former member of the CKO/Forresters in Landeck. Throughout his life and especially in his retirement Ralph enjoyed woodworking projects. He made countless items for friends and family and donated many items to Delphos St. John’s and Landeck St. John the Baptist for them to use for their fundraising activities. He was a fan of Elvis and enjoyed life to the fullest and dearly loved his family.
A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Rev. Dennis Walsh, officiating, Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos, where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:45 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to SmileTrain – to benefit babies born with cleft palates or St. Jude’s.
