DELPHOS – Mildred “Millie” Spitnale, 95, of Delphos, passed away Wednesday morning, August 4, 2021.
She was born March 5, 1926, to the late Alex and Myrtle (Cleaves) Teman. On June 26, 1949, she married Marvin L. Spitnale who preceded her in death on March 13, 2019. They had been married for over 69 years.
Mildred is survived by a son, Mark (LeAnn) Spitnale of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; two daughters, Laura (Steven) Emura of Honolulu, Hawaii, and LeAnn (Deron) Sorrell of Lima; seven grandchildren, Jerry (Sherry) Johnson, Kristen (Akaniao) Kozeniewski, Kevin (Bree) Emura, Melanie (Shea) Curl, Christopher (Courtney) Huffer, Brooke (Joshua) Bertsch, and Joshua (Ashton) Spitnale; fifteen great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Gerard Johnson of Delphos.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lana Johnson, two brothers and a sister.
Millie was graduated from Delphos Jefferson High School in 1944. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed many years working part-time, volunteering with worthwhile organizations, especially at St. Rita’s for many years and writing poetry. She took great pride in the mother’s club she began and her involvement with area choirs and the girl scouts. Millie enjoyed camping with Marvin and the family.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday August 9, 2021, at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos. Rev. Harry Tolhurst will be officiating. Burial will follow in Cascade Cemetery, Cloverdale.
Visitation will be from 3:00-5:00 p.m. on Sunday August 8, 2021 and an hour before the service on Monday at Weber Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church.
