Maxine Evans Obituary

Maxine (Weech - Beach) Evans, 103, of Gomer, passed away Friday evening, December 10, 2021 at Vancrest of Delphos.

She was born October 27, 1918, in London Mills, Illinois to the late Walter and Blanche (Shane) Weech. On April 17, 1953, she married John D. Evans, who preceded her in death June 24, 2019.

Maxine is survived by three daughters, Pamela Evans of Gomer, Patricia (Carl) Telfer of Delaware, OH,  and Peggy  (David) Walters of Waynesfield; ten grandchildren, Julie (Joe) Marchesani of New Jersey, Jon (Barb) Green of Columbus, Eric Green of Gahanna, Jodi (Dave) Hill of Troy, Michigan, Debra Oney of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Kayla (Phil) Haddad of Delaware, OH, Jonathan Telfer of Columbus, Melissa (Aaron) Baxter of Columbus, Matthew (Jessica) Walters of Lima, and Michael(Olivia) Walters of Howell, Michigan; fourteen great-grandchildren, Brad (Kelly) Miller, Leah, Joseph and Katie Marchesani, Jon (Mays) Hill and David Hill, Carter and Kinsley Walters, Layla Baxter, Tyler, Justin and Dante Green, and Finnick and Silas Haddad; and four great-great-grandchildren, Baylee Miller, Bradey Miller, Kylee Miller and Elijah Hill.

She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Carl Beach; two daughters, Sandra Beach Green and Shirley (Beach) Miller-Bondeson; a grandson, Jeff Miller; a brother, Jack Weech Langford and a half -brother, Steven Weech Williams.

Maxine was a member of Gomer Congregational Church. She was a homemaker, and had formerly worked at the Lima Steel Foundry during W.W. II, Lima Municipal Court, Colonial Finance Company, Lazarus, Elks Club, and was part owner of Evans Drive-In Restaurant. Maxine loved to garden and plant flowers, crochet, work crossword puzzles, and care for her children and grandchildren. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 17 at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth Street, Delphos. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home, with Rev. Mark Walls officiating.  Burial will follow in Pike Run Cemetery, Gomer.
