Margaret A. ‘Peg’ Mansfield, 93, of Delphos, passed away Friday evening, February 17, 2023, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s.
She was born February 16, 1930, to the late Joseph A. and Ellen (Wannemacher) Rekart. On September 19, 1950, she married William Henry Mansfield who preceded her in death on December 26, 2007.
Peg is survived by her children, Stephen (Fran) Mansfield of Lima, Christine (Ed) Wannemacher of Ottoville, Kayleen Franks and Craig (Peggy) Mansfield both of Delphos; grandchildren, Stephanie Mansfield, Mark Mansfield, Barbara Meleg, Meredith Warnecke, Meghan Maag, Melanie Harbold, Matt Wannemacher, Jennifer Gerhardstein and Kristina Grubenhoff; 14 great-grandchildren with one on the way; a brother, Joseph (Joan Rentz) Rekart of Lima; two sisters, Ruth Steinbuch of Indianapolis, IN and Sharon Gengler of Delphos; and all of the extended Mansfield family in Defiance.
She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Marty Mansfield; son-in-law, Jack Franks; two great-grandsons, Jayce and Aiden Wannemacher; brothers, William (Lou) Rekart and Roger (Della) Rekart; brothers-in-law, John Gengler and Harold Steinbuch; and sister-in-law, Corrine Rekart.
Peg had worked at Clawson Electric, Ace Hardware and Advantage Cleaners, finally retiring at the age of 88. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and volunteered at the Interfaith Thrift Shop.
A Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 21 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will be at a later date in St. John’s Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, February 20 at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos, where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:45 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s School. Online condolences may be shared at www.weberfh.net
