Lowell Gossard Obituary

Lowell A. Gossard, 78, of Delphos, passed away Monday, March 15, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born March 31, 1942, in Waynesfield to Charles E. and Pansy L. (Webb) Gossard, who both preceded him in death. He was happily married to Vera (Ricker) Gossard on June 26, 1965, and she survives in Delphos. Other survivors include two daughters, Sheila (Terry) Kortokrax of Ottoville, and Charla (Mark) Moscinski of Grove City; and one son, Matt L. (Julie) Gossard of Liberty Township Ohio; as well as eight grandchildren, Logan (Colleen) Kortokrax, Carly and Grant Kortokrax, Alayna, Ella, and Tyler Moscinski, Caleb and Alexander Gossard. He is also survived by a sister, Twyla Holmes, and a sister-in-law, Joan Gossard. Lowell was also preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Kenneth, and Michael C. Gossard. Lowell, a devoted son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend, was a jack of all trades. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, riding his motorcycle, playing card games, and was an avid Old Westerns fan. As a veteran, Lowell served in the Army for three years. Lowell had worked at Chrysler Amplex in Van Wert, when it closed he went to work at the Lima Army Tank plant, he retired as a welder and supervisor. In his retirement years he went to work for Violet Implement in Delphos. With a love of warmer weather, Lowell and Vera vacationed in Mesa, Arizona during the winters for many years. Most of all, he loved spending time with family and friends. Lowell was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Delphos, Knights of Columbus Council 1362, and Delphos Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 471. A Memorial Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 20 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Father Charles Obinwa and Father Dennis Walsh will be officiating. Military honors will be conducted by Delphos Veterans Council following the service at the church. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the Church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's School, St. John's Parish Foundation, or Putnam County Hospice. Online condolences may be shared at www.weberfh.net. Arrangements were entrusted to Weber Funeral Home. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, in keeping with the state order, masks are mandatory at church.
