Josephine M. (Lucke) Mohler, age 83, of Delphos, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 1:05 a.m. at Van Wert Health.
She was born July 1, 1938, in Fort Jennings to Ferd and Martha (Ricker) Lucke, who both preceded her in death. On April 30, 1960, she married Arnold Mohler, and he survives in Delphos. They would have celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary this year.
Josie is survived by four sons, Arnold (Jill) Mohler of Delphos, Jeffrey (Joyce) Mohler of Delphos, Greg (Cynthia) Mohler of North Carolina and Kevin (Amber) Mohler of Delphos; two daughters, Lisa (Dan) Kayser of Ashville, North Carolina and Cindy (Drew) Kimmett of Winston Salem, North Carolina; 14 grandchildren, Brad (Audra) Mohler, Lyle (Katherine) Mohler, Alexis (Nick) Dancer, Lyndsay (Kody) White, Jordan Mohler, Benjamin Mohler, Ally (Austin) Schroeder, Evan Mohler, Erika Mohler, Zach Mohler, Audrey Kayser, Katherine Kayser, Maggie Kimmett, Ethan Kimmett, Alaina Martin and Addison Martin; and 9 great-grandchildren, Leona and Vivienne Mohler, Maggie and Louie Mohler, Clark, Charlie, Clyde, and Chloe Dancer and Gracelynn White.
She is also survived by four sisters, Wilma Humpert of Delphos, Norma Burgei of Ottoville, Karen (Larry) Heitmeyer of Ft. Jennings and Doris (Art) Neidert also of Ft. Jennings; and a brother-in-law, Hubert ‘Rick’ Ricker of Delphos.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amanda Mohler; brothers, Donald Lucke, John Lucke and Elmer Lucke; sisters, Vera (Leonard) Menke, Alice (Raphael) Fischbach, Elizabeth ‘Betty’ (Rudy Wurst) Ricker and Sister Mary Ann Lucke, S.S.F.; sister-in-law, Ruth Lucke; and brothers-in-law, Bob Humpert and Tom Burgei.
Josie was a longtime member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She worked for over 60 years as a hairdresser, mostly at Darlene’s Beauty Shop, and was also a talented seamstress. Josie enjoyed dancing, gardening, volunteering at the Delphos Canal Commission and sharing good times and laughter with family.
A Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00a.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will be at a later date in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday March 21, 2022 at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos, where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:45 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Delphos Canal Commission.
