John T. Jettinghoff, 60, of Delphos, passed away Saturday evening January 29, 2022, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s.
He was born October 25, 1961, in Lima to Neil and Beatrice (Brubaker) Jettinghoff who both survive in Delphos. On April 28, 1984, he married Tammy (Pappas) Jettinghoff who survives in Delphos.
John is also survived by his son, John T. (Allison) Jettinghoff, Jr., of Columbus; daughter, Jessica (Cory) Bertling of Delphos; brothers, Mike (Beth) Jettinghoff of Ft. Wayne and Matthew (Lisa) Jettinghoff of Delphos; grandchildren, Elias, Everett, Juliet and Callia Bertling, and Delta Jettinghoff.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Steven Jettinghoff; and a sister, Julie Jettinghoff.
John was a 1980 graduate of Delphos St. John’s and then went on to graduate from TTS in Pittsburgh, where he met the love of his life, Tammy. He was owner and operator of Jettinghoff Contracting since 1995. He had worked for Bob Beckman before starting on his own. John was an avid drag racer in Norwalk, Milan and Muncie, IN. He worked the St. John’s High School football games as a member of the “chain gang”. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, St. John’s Athletic Boosters and Eagles Aerie #471. John loved spending time with his family, he especially loved building things with his grandkids.
A Funeral Mass will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 5 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will be at a later date in Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 4 at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos, where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:45 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Athletic Endowment or to the family.
