Jim Schimmoeller Obituary

Jim Schimmoeller, 72, of Delphos passed away Saturday evening February 12, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born May 6, 1949, in Lima to Alphonse and Dorothy (Moenter) Schimmoeller who preceded him in death. On April 25, 1970, he married Pamela Butler who survives in Delphos.

Jim is also survived by his daughter, Laura Price of Ottoville; two grandchildren, Justin (Emilie) Price and Austin Price; a brother Tom (Ruth) Schimmoeller of Delphos; two sisters-in-law, Diane Mosier and Vicki (Dan) Kramer both of Delphos; and a brother-in-law Doug (Vickie) Butler of Wetzel.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Michael Schimmoeller; brothers, John, Gary and Dick Schimmoeller; and two infant sisters.

Jim was a retired machine operator at Dana, retiring in 2012 after 35 years. He served in the United States Army in Korea during the Vietnam War. Jim was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. He was also a life member of the VFW Post 3035 in Delphos and the American Legion Post 715 in Ft. Jennings. He enjoyed an occasional drink at the Rustic with his brother John. He was a Chicago Cubs fan. Jim was a friend to all, especially enjoyed his family, most of all the grandkids.

A Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 18, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, where graveside military honors will be conducted by the Delphos Veterans Council will follow the Mass at the church.  Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos, where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:45 p.m.  Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.  Online condolences may be shared at www.weberfh.net.
