He was born February 23, 1937, in Putnam County. He was the son of Sylvester and Johanna Klima and the grandson of John and Mary Klima and Edward and Loretta Kill. On September 7, 1957, he married Lorene (Allemeier) Klima who survives in Delphos.

Jerome is also survived by five sons, Edward (Leah) Klima of Delphos, Joseph (Karen) Klima of Orville, Ronald (Kathy Brady) Klima of Sarasota, FL, Daniel (Tanya Schieber) Klima of Antwerp, and Charles (Cara Ruhnke) Klima of Sarasota, FL; three daughters, Angela (Walt) Nickell of Celina, Annette (Lance) Brown of Delphos, and Aimee (Robert) Wnek of Monroe; five brothers, Norbert (Lucille) Klima of Payne, Melvin (Luann) Klima of Spencerville, Eugene (Evie) Klima of Payne, Kenneth (Rita) Klima of Fort Wayne, IN, and Robert (Debra) Klima of Ottawa Lake, MI; four sisters, Jolene Bockey of Van Wert, Theresa (Roger) Burgei of Cloverdale, Agnes (Terry) Burlee of Wolcott, NY, and Rita (William) Spencer of Elida; seventeen grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Norma Jean Warnecke; and in-laws, Richard Warnecke, Ralph Bockey, Hilary Allemeier, Edna Arbogast, Marie Brendle, Monica German and Margaret Allemeier.

Jerome was a beloved husband and father and a devout member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus Council 1362 being a Fourth Degree Knight and the Shepherds of Christ. He devoted numerous hours of service to the Knights of Columbus and the Right to Life Society. He was an electrician who worked for several businesses and was employed as a maintenance electrician at the Fruehauf Corporation for over 30 years. Some of his favorite pastimes were singing, playing the guitar, and friendly games of euchre. He also enjoyed working with his hands, and he could repair nearly every type of machinery he encountered. As his family and friends will attest, he was a man with a generous heart and many talents, but his favorite pursuit was farming the family farm established by his grandfather. The strong bond he shared with his brothers and sisters was a source of strength in his life which provided a lasting example for his children. Jerome leaves behind a loving family, countless friends, and a legacy that demonstrates the value of hard work and faith in God.
