Gerald R. Ladd

Gerald R. Ladd, 89, of Delphos, passed away on Friday, September 22, 2023, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s.

He was born September 10, 1934 in Delphos to Melvin and Loa (Matson) Ladd. On October 19, 1957 he  married Shirley Klaus Ladd and she survives in Delphos. They shared 66 wonderful years together.

Gerald is survived by six children, Lisa (Jeff) Cotrell of Van Wert, Barry Ladd of Delphos, Mark (Laura Warnecke) Ladd of Ft. Jennings, Gina (Kevin) Meyer of Ft. Jennings, Ross Ladd of Toledo and Darin Ladd of Ottawa. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.

Gerald worked for U.S. Fiber Corporation for 40 years. He began his career traveling from state to state setting up equipment. He retired in 1997 as a supervisor. He was an avid gardener, and a big Buckeye Fan. He was very proud of his son and grandson who chose careers in law enforcement. He loved visits from his kids and grandkids especially when they brought their pets along. He enjoyed watching his kids and grandkids in all their sports. He truly loved his family and had a special nickname for each of his grandchildren. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Landeck.

Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Monday, September 25, 2023, at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 East Fifth Street, Delphos.

A funeral mass will begin at 12:00 noon Monday, September 25, 2023 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Landeck. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in Gerald’s memory.
