Charles Klausing Obituary

Delphos- Charles A. Klausing, 58, of Delphos, Ohio passed away 3:53 a.m., Thursday May 13, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born April 1, 1963 in Lima, to Richard and Alene (Kaverman) Klausing.  His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in Delphos.  On August 8, 1992 he was united in marriage to Barbara Hemker, who survives in Delphos.

Charles is survived by two sons, Kyle of Dayton, and Bradley (fiancée Karin Forsthoefel) of Dayton, and two daughters, Lanna and Annette, both of Delphos. He also had a host son, Silas Diembeck, who survives in Werther, Germany. He is survived by two brothers, Arthur (Linda) Klausing and Robert Klausing, both of Delphos; three sisters, Diana (Donald) Stechschulte of Columbus Grove, Doris (Robert) Trentman of Delphos, and Karen (James) Austin of Sausalito, California.

Charlie worked at Cargill, Lima for 35 years and always had an interest in farming and agriculture.  He liked to watch the crops grow and try to guess their yield.  He was a 1981 graduate of Delphos St. John High School and a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Delphos.  He enjoyed greeting parishioners at the 5:30 p.m. mass in Landeck, and looked forward to the food and fellowship afterwards.  Croquet was one of his favorite games to play with family and friends.

Charlie devoted his life to raising his family and was involved in his children’s extra-curricular activities, some of which included sports, band, class play, spelling bees and the Delphos Boy Scouts. He will be remembered by his frequent comments of “God is good” even in the midst of his battle with cancer.  For “Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in God my Savior.”  Habakkuk 3:17-18.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 16 2021 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth Street Delphos, where a Parish Wake service will be held at 6:00 p.m.

A funeral mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 17, 2021 at St. John the Baptist Church, Landeck. Father Dennis Walsh will be officiating, burial to follow in Landeck St. John’s Cemetery.
