Carolyn L. Mueller, 86, of Delphos, passed away Tuesday afternoon, March 19, 2024 at Mercy Health St. Rita’s surrounded by her loving family.
She was born August 13, 1937 in Delphos to Francis and Fern (Fosnaught) Weisgerber, who both preceded her in death. She is survived by her twin sister Marilyn Downing and sister Ann Hetzel.
Carolyn married the love of her life, Thomas Mueller, on November 27, 1958. Together, they raised a beautiful family of five children, Jeff Mueller, Kathy (Jeff) Buettner, Amy (Scot) Deffenbaugh, Jodi (Dave) German, and Dr. Mark (Stephanie Manns) Mueller.
She was the greatest nana to 13 grandchildren, Sina (Cecily) Danesh, Tommy Mueller, Neil (Brittany) Buettner, Eric (Megan) Buettner, Matt (Rose) Deffenbaugh, Megan (Kaleb) Coil, Lance Deffenbaugh, Gabrielle German, Jenna (Austin) Carder, and Brooklyn, Lincoln, Evelyn, and Carolyn Mueller. She is also loved by 9 great-grandchildren, Leila Danesh, Rose Buettner, and Everett Buettner,
Mason and Deacon Deffenbaugh, Tatum, Gracyn, and Cade Coil, and Theodore German.
Carolyn was a proud member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, where she was active in many different ministries. She was a nurse for over 60 years, dedicating the majority of these years to Vancrest of Delphos. Her happiest times were spent with the family on warm days in her pool, weekends at Hamilton Lake and Adams Lake, holiday gatherings, and the infamous cookie day near Christmas time. She attended nearly all her grandchildren's sporting events, and was a loyal St. John’s Blue Jay and Notre Dame Fighting Irish fan.
She will be remembered by her kindness, her cooking and baking, her love for family, friends, and the love she gave to all of those around her.
The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, love, support, and the staff of Mercy Health St. Rita’s Hospital, especially the intensive care unit, for their care.
A Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 23 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos, where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:45 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Athletic Endowment Fund. Online condolences may be shared at www.weberfh.net.
