Caden David Meyer, 18, of Spencerville, passed away Tuesday evening, June 28, 2022, as the result of a motor vehicle accident.
He was born August 29, 2003, in Lima to David and Mandi (Bowersock) Meyer who both survive in Spencerville.
Caden is also survived by his siblings, Joseph, Abigail, Grace and Stella Meyer, all at home; maternal grandparents, Ron (Pam Fitzgerald) Bowersock of Spencerville and Mary (Jim) Roof of Van Wert; paternal grandparent, Carolyn Sue (Schwinnen) Meyer of Spencerville; maternal great-grandmother, Margie Kemp of Delphos; maternal uncles, Cory Bowersock and Cody (Katie) Bowersock; paternal aunts and uncles, Glen Young, Frank (Samantha) Meyer, Jr., Jennifer (Chad) Prine, Sarah (Ron) Miller; a great-aunt, Judith Schwinnen; his girlfriend, Sara Burnett of Spencerville; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Frank Meyer, Sr.; cousins, Michael Young, Nicholas Poling and Paul Hesseling; an uncle, Brendan Poling; and an aunt, Mary Young.
Caden was a 2022 graduate of Delphos St. John’s and Vantage Career Center. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Landeck, where he was an altar server for many years. He also volunteered at church functions. Caden had been working at Strayer Sow Farm in Spencerville since December of 2020, currently he was a supervisor in the feed department. Caden loved hunting, fishing, Tug A Truck Competitions and all things farming. He could fix anything. He was an amazing son, grandson, brother and friend to all who knew him. Caden was a young man with an old soul. He never knew a stranger and touched the lives of everyone he met. Caden will never be forgotten.
A Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 2 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, the Rev. Dennis Walsh officiating. Burial will follow in Landeck Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos, where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:45 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be shared at www.weberfh.net
