Wilma F. Humpert, 90, of Fort Wayne, Indiana (formerly of Delphos, Ohio) passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, October 18, 2025. She was born December 6, 1934, at home, to Ferd and Martha (Ricker) Lucke, who preceded her in death. On August 20, 1960, she married Robert (“Bob”) Humpert, who also preceded her in death.

Wilma is survived by her children: Gina (David) Wyatt of Fort Wayne, IN; Art (Beth) Humpert of Ormond Beach, FL; Mark (Brooke) Humpert of Germantown, MD; and Bill (Suzy) Humpert of Union, KY.

She is also survived by siblings and sister and brother-in-laws: Norma (Lucke) Burgei of Ottoville, OH; Art and Doris (Lucke) Neidert of Fort Jennings, OH; Larry and Karen (Lucke) Heitmeyer of Fort Jennings, OH; Arnie Mohler of Delphos, OH; Ruth (Schimmoeller) Lucke of Fort Jennings, OH; Jean (Kerns) Lucke of Van Wert, OH; and Denny and Therese (Humpert) Ricker of Westerville, OH.

She was preceded in death by siblings and sister and brother-in-laws: Sr. Mary Ann Lucke; Alice (Lucke) and Raphael Fischbach; Vera (Lucke) and Len Menke; Betty (Lucke) and Rudy Wurst; Donald Lucke; Josie (Lucke) Mohler; Elmer Lucke; John Lucke; Chuck and Sue (Humpert) Verhoff and her brother-in-law Hubert “Rick” Ricker.

Wilma was the proud grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored.

A graduate of Fort Jennings High School and Mary Manse College in Toledo, Wilma taught in the Van Wert, Ottoville, and Delphos public school systems as well as at Delphos St. John’s. She later served as Children’s Librarian at the Delphos Public Library until her retirement in 1998.

A devout Catholic, Wilma was an active member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos where she served as an extraordinary minister of holy communion. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and volunteer with the Delphos Canal Museum and Interfaith Thrift Shop. She loved spending time with family, was a voracious reader, enjoyed gardening, drives in the country, and watching birds. She delighted in hosting “Grandma Camps” for her grandchildren and cherished sharing stories of growing up on a farm with her 11 brothers and sisters in Fort Jennings. A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 24, 2025, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will take place at St. John’s Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2025 and 8:30 a.m.-9:30 a.m on Friday, October 24, 2025 at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos, where a Parish Wake Service will begin at 6:45 p.m.
