Thomas O. Schimmoeller, age 82, of Delphos, was called into the presence of the Lord Thursday, October 16, 2025 at The Meadows of Delphos surrounded by his loving family.
He was born September 14, 1943 in Delphos to Alphonse and Dorothy (Moenter) Schimmoeller, who both preceded him in death. On May 2, 1975 he married Ruth A. Schimmoeller who preceded him in death on January 28, 2025.
He is also survived by two step-daughters, Tammy (Dave) Bergfeld and Shelly (Mike) Kayser; two sisters-in-law, Pam and Nadine Schimmoeller, both of Delphos; five grandchildren, Jamie (Randy) Grothaus, Julie (Greg) Renner, Eric (Alex Warren) Bergfeld, Wes (Rachel) Kayser and Molly (Colin) Armstrong; and eight great grandchildren, Skyler, Lance, Violet, and Cece Grothaus and Colton, Lexi, Olivia, and Wade Renner.
He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Dick, Gary, John, and Jim Schimmoeller and a sister -in- law Sandy Schimmoeller.
Tom retired in 2001 after working 31 years as an electrician for Dana Corporation. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Delphos VFW Post #3035 and the Delphos Eagles #471. He was a United States Air Force Veteran. Tom started a legacy with his family being together at the lake, that was his happy place with his family and friends.
A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery with Graveside Military Rites by the Delphos Veterans Council.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos, where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:45 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Delphos Thrift Store.
