Sister Mary (Catherine Hemker) Joseleen

Sr. Mary Joseleen (Catherine Hemker), 95, of Toledo, originally from Delphos, passed away Tuesday evening, December 15, 2020 in the Rosary Care Center of Toledo. She was born January 29, 1925, in Delphos to the late Joseph and Agnes (Wrasman) Hemker. Sr. Mary Joseleen is survived by three brothers, Herman (Vera) Hemker of Coldwater, Michigan, Leo Hemker of Point Harbor, North Carolina and Ralph (Bonnie) Hemker of Florida; three sisters, Ann Baldauf, and Ruth Liebrecht, both of Delphos and Clare Alvarado of Van Wert. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Carl (Delores) Hemker and Paul (Rita) Hemker; a sister Mary (Gilbert) Pohl; sister-in-law, Lidia Hemker; and brother-in-law, Joe Alvarado. St. Joseleen resided in Rome, Italy for 39 years as a Sister of Adoration for the Notre Dame Order. She continued to be a Sister of Adoration after returning to Toledo, Ohio.
