Sherry was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Nadia McDonald, sister-in-law Nancy Klausing, Mother-in-law Joyce Klausing, father-in-law Ronald J. Klausing and her beloved little doggy friend, Elvis, Jr.
Sherry was a strong, selfless woman with a genuinely kind heart. She knew no stranger and would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. She loved her family fiercely, and those she loved always knew just how much they meant to her.
Sherry’s husband, Dave, was not only the love of her life but also her best friend. They shared many wonderful years filled with love, laughter, fun, and countless memories. Sherry was fortunate to retire in her early 40s, giving her and Dave many years to enjoy life together. They loved camping, taking houseboat trips, traveling, gambling, and spending evenings sitting around a campfire. More than anything, Sherry treasured the time she spent with her loving husband and family.
In her younger years, Sherry enjoyed playing softball and bowling. She also built a successful career in the banking industry. She worked at Bank One as a teller and in collections, and later worked at Liberty Savings Bank, where she led a team and sold investments. However, despite her successful banking career, Sherry always said her favorite job was working at Butler Shoe Store in the Lima Mall before beginning her career in banking.
Throughout her life, Sherry was fortunate to develop many wonderful and lasting friendships. She truly valued and treasured those relationships and considered herself blessed to have each one of her friends in her life. To Sherry, friends were never simply acquaintances; they became part of the people she loved and held close to her heart.
Sherry lived life with strength, generosity, and a deep love for the people around her. She leaves behind many wonderful memories, plenty of stories, and a family and circle of friends who will continue to carry her love with them.
It was Sherry’s wishes to be cremated. A Memorial service will be held at a later date.
