Ruth C. Pohlman, 90, of Delphos, passed away Wednesday morning, August 23, 2017 at Community Health Professionals Van Wert Inpatient Hospice. Her Family.... She was born October 16, 1926 in Putnam County to Jacob and Veronica (Ricker) Burgei who both preceded her in death. On October 16, 1945 she married Jerome "Dewey" H. Pohlman, who preceded her in death on December 4, 2000. She is survived by four sons, Gerald (Annette) Pohlman of Lima, Roger (Sally) Pohlman, Mark (Beth) Pohlman and Dale (Julie) Pohlman, all of Delphos; two daughters, Carol (Kenneth) Grothous of Delphos and Kathryn (Mark) Spears of Lima; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren with another one on the way; two sisters, Norma Vonderembse of Delphos and Irene Miller of Ottoville; and sisters-in-law, Ethel Burgei and Avonelle Burgei, both of Delphos, Norma Burgei of Ottoville, Dolly Pohlman and LaDonna Peterson, both of Delphos. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, John, Orville and Thomas Burgei; three sisters, Alma Minnig, Rosemary Pohlman and Gertrude Rode; and one grandson, Darrel Pohlman Her Legacy.... Ruth was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters of America. She was a homemaker and had worked at Drapery Stitch for 25 years. She was also a 4-H advisor and volunteered at the Interfaith Thrift Shop for many years. Ruth enjoyed sewing and crocheting for her family, also loved teaching them. She spent many hours at different houses canning with her family. She attended ballgames many years with "Dewey" and their friends until she wasn't able, and then she continued listening to the radio to the family ballgames. She loved playing cards with friends. She dearly loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; never missing a birthday. Her Farewell Services.... Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 26 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Rev. Doug Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday with a Parish Wake Service held at 7:30 p.m.; and one hour before the time of service on Saturday at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos.
