Rowena A. Suever

Rowena A. Suever, 97, of Landeck, passed away Monday, April 24, 2017, at Vancrest Health Care Center of Delphos. Her Family.... She was born February 3, 1920 in Delphos to the late William and Rose Ann (Trentman) Hesseling. On June 8, 1940 she married Herman M. "Piney" Suever, who preceded her in death on April 4, 2006. She is survived by two sons, Norbert "Piney" (Rita) Suever of Landeck and Gerald "Jerry" (Rhonda) Suever of Delphos; and a daughter, Dorothy Hedrick of Delphos; seven grandchildren, Laura (Larry) Reynolds, Kathy (Joe) Kahle, Sandy (Jim) Tomsic, Darlene (Steve) Fischer, Diane (Todd) Teman, Duane (Dena) Hedrick and Elaine Suever; thirteen great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; three great-great-granddaughters and one great-great-grandchild on the way. She was also preceded in death by five sisters, Clara and Leona Hesseling, Mildred Wahmhoff, Marie Wulfhorst and Evelyn Mueller; one brother, Arnold Hesseling; and a son-in-law, David Hedrick. Her Legacy.... Rowena retired from The Delphos Food Locker. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church and the Altar Rosary Society of Landeck. She enjoyed making homemade noodles, pie crusts and her special angel food cakes from scratch for her children and grandchildren. Her Farewell Services.... Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 28 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Landeck, the Rev. George Mahas officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, Landeck. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Thursday at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos, where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
