Rosella L. Bonifas

Rosella ‘Rosie' L. Bonifas, 92, of Delphos, passed away Friday morning, March 24, 2017, at St. Rita's Hospice in Lima. Her Family.... She was born September 18, 1924 in Delphos to the late William P. and Angela E. (Picker) Bonifas. She is survived by a sister, Eileen Bonifas of Delphos; brother-in-law, Eugene A. Kaverman of Ottoville; nieces and nephews: Elizabeth (Ralph) Hunt, Carol (Jerome) Bendele, James (Anita) Kaverman, Linda (Rod) Moser, Gerard (Linda) Kaverman, Marie Kaverman, Angela Kaverman and Janice Kaverman; 11 great-nieces and nephews; six great-great-nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Melvin Bonifas; a sister, Esther Kaverman; and a nephew, Joseph (Marlene) Kaverman. Her Legacy.... Rosie retired from Fruehauf Corporation after working 33 years as a PBX operator. She had previously worked for 9 years at Lima Telephone and Telegraph Company. Rosie was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She graduated in 1942 from Delphos St. John's and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, was a past officer and past state chairman. She loved to bowl in the Delphos Bowling Leagues, had been past director and elected into the bowling hall of fame. She was Lima District Hall of Fame charter notorious member. Rosie enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading and playing cards. Her Farewell Services.... Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 27 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Rev. Dennis Walsh officiating. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Sunday at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos, where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Delphos St. John's Parish Foundation or to a charity of the donor's choice.
