DELPHOS – Rose Louise ‘Posy’ Weber, age 94, of Delphos, passed away Wednesday, March 12 2025, at VanCrest of Delphos.
Posy was born June 3, 1930 in Delphos to Frank J. and Mary Magdeline (Cooney) Hohenbrink, who both preceded her in death. On February 18, 1950, she married Eugene L. Weber, who preceded her in death on July 15, 2022.
She is survived by four sons, Sid (Kathy) Weber of Delphos, Ned Weber of Springfield, Dr. Kim (Jerilyn) Weber of Springfield, and Chad (Jean) Weber of Delphos; three daughters, Trude (Jeff) Menke of Ottoville, Katrina (Doug) Noonan of Hamilton, and Wendy (Dennis ‘Grub’) Grothause of Wapak and her son-in-law Bob Scherger of Wapak; 27 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren with one on the way. She and Gene fostered 18 children over the years.
She was also preceded in death by an infant son Guy, her daughter Polly Scherger, daughter-in-law, Susan Weber; siblings, John Hohenbrink, Elva Sheets, Mary Ann Donelly, Richard Hohenbrink, and Mark Hohenbrink, Elvera Wieging.
Posy was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, she along with her husband Gene attended mass daily. She served as a communion distributor. She sewed purificators for communion, and made baptismal gowns for the church. She volunteered at the church festival for over 20 years in the salad department. She was a member of the Catholic Ladies of Columbia Delphos Council 40, Shepherds of Christ, Holy Spirit Prayer Group, was a member of the Secular Franciscans and St. Vincent DePaul. Posy and Gene attended and were involved with a Cursillo Retreat and many other retreats over the years. Posy dearly loved her family and will always be remembered for her homemade popsicles and strawberry jam. She was truly happiest of all when she was holding a baby on her lap.
A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2:00p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos, where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Polly Scherger Servant Leadership Tuition Assistance Endowment Fund #320FCJ, checks can be mailed to Catholic Foundation, 257 E. Broad St., Columbus, Oh 43215, or to St. Vincent DePaul.
