Ronald J. ‘Ron’ Schimmoeller, age 79, of Delphos, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born September 22, 1946, to Kenneth and Mary Ann (Sanders) Schimmoeller and they preceded him in death.

Ron married Bertha (Kill) Schimmoeller on July 12, 1969, and she survives in Delphos.

He is also survived by two sons, Scott (Amy) Schimmoeller and Travis (Jill) Schimmoeller; and his daughter Stacey (Eric) Ricker all of Delphos. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, Kayla (Keagen) Leis, Dylan (Kaylee) Schimmoeller, Jayce Schimmoeller, Sara (Lyndon) Roof, Devin (Kimberly) Ricker, Blake (Lauren Sweeny) Ricker, Brady Ricker, Olivia Ricker, Ethan, Alex, and Wyatt Schimmoeller, one great-granddaughter, Rosie Roof, and another great-grandchild on the way. Ron is survived by two brothers, Mike (Elaine) Schimmoeller and Steve (Etta) Schimmoeller, both of Delphos; and two sisters, Jean Dickrede of Delphos, and Mary Kay (Steve) Koester of Ottoville, his sisters and brothers-in-law, Rita (Sam) Utrup and Kathy (Bill) Courtney.

Ron was preceded in death by a brother, Ken L. Schimmoeller; his brother-in-law, Ken Dickrede, sisters and brothers-in-law, Rosie (Lawrence) Hilvers, Martha (Louie) Hotz, Elmer Kill, Alfred (Louise) KIll, and his grandson, Brady Zalar.

Ron was a 1964 graduate of Delphos St. John’s High School. He worked at General Motors in Defiance and retired after 40 years. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. He was a lifelong Blue Jay fan, as well as the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Bengals, and was also a member of the Delphos Eagles #471.

Most of all Ron was a loving husband, father, and grandpa. He enjoyed following all of his grandkids and their activities. He cherished family time at Rose Lake and family trips to Florida.

A funeral mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2026, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, burial to follow in Resurrection Cemetery.

Visitation for Ron will be on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. with a parish wake to be held at 7:45 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
