DELPHOS – Robert Obermeyer, 94, of Delphos, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2026 at Mercy Health, St. Rita’s Lima, Ohio.

He was born August 1, 1932 in Lima, Ohio to Charles and Frances (Fortener) Obermeyer. He married Margaret (Flanagan) Obermeyer on January 22,1955, she preceded him in death on July 12, 2019.

He is survived by sons, James (Jami) of Seattle, and Chip (KC) of Seattle; daughters, Robbin (Dan) Clark of Durango, CO and Susan Wieging, of Madison, IN; daughter-in-law, Sandy Obermeyer, of Delphos, OH; grandchildren, Josh (Carrie)Wieging, Neal (Emily) Clark, Adam (Rachael Zima) Clark, Megan (Matt Hambrick) Obermeyer, Clay (Aliysia McLeod) Obermeyer and Evan Obermeyer, Craig (Bailey) Carder and Trisha (Tony) Kroeger; his great-grandchildren, Dylan Peck, Lennon Wieging, Mary Jane (Isaac) Jansen, Ben (Madison) Deweese, Eleanor Clark, Rowan Clark, Cameron Carder, Cohen Carder; and a great-great grandson, Beau Jansen.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Charlie and Fritz Obermeyer; and a brother, James Obermeyer; in-laws, Robert (Martha) Flanagan, Harold (Norma) Flanagan, Jeanette (Francis) Fischer, Helen (Norman) Wiechart.

Bob graduated from Delphos St. John’s High School; after high school he attended the University of Notre Dame. He was a member of Delphos St. John’s the Evangelist Catholic Church, and he was actively involved during the church restoration. He was President of the Delphos Bending Company/Orbitron. He was actively involved in the Delphos Jaycees, also served as President. He was a volunteer for the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District. He enjoyed leading school tour groups. Bob was an avid birder, Cleveland “Indians” fan and a lifelong trap shooter.

A private family Celebration of Bob’s life will be held at a later date; burial will be in the St. John’s Cemetery.

Weber Funeral Home was entrusted by Bob’s family to take care of his arrangements.
