Randy Lynn Sevitz

Randy L. Sevitz, age 55 of Van Wert, passed away Saturday evening, October 26 at Van Wert Hospice Center surrounded by his loving family. His Family... He was born May 2, 1958 in Lima, Ohio to the late Robert and Shirley (McCaslin) Sevitz. He married Natalie (Sterling) Sevitz in July of 1997. He is survived by his children: Amy (John) Nemec of Moriava, New York, Jason (Jaymee) Sevitz of Delphos, Beth Evans of Middle Point, and Bryan Sevitz of Delphos; 18 grandchildren; two brothers, Dave (Terry) Sevitz of Denver, Colorado and Darrin (Janine) Sevitz of Middle Point; three sisters, Darla (Fred) Smith of Lexington, South Carolina, Diane (Wayne) Crozier of Ada, and Connie (Gene) Burden of Lima; his best friends, Greg Joseph, Jim Lynch, and Drew Gayer; his furry babies, Zoey and Sammy. Randy was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law Jeff Evans and a brother, Gerry Sevitz. His Legacy... Randy graduated from Shawnee High School in 1976. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1976-1980. He was one of the best over the road truck drivers. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also loved to landscape and work in his flower beds with his wife. He was a practical joker and loved making people laugh. His Farewell Services... Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 30 at Strayer Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Bradley, officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Cemetery, rural Middle Point with military graveside rites accorded by the Delphos Veterans Council. Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at Strayer Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos.
