Paul Eugene Lenhart

June 9, 1927 — May 4, 2018

Paul Eugene Lenhart, 90, of Lima, was called from this earth Friday, May 4, 2018. Death occurred at his home surrounded by his family. His Family.... Paul was born June 9, 1927, in Tiffin to Jerome and Helen (Phillips) Lenhart, who both preceded him in death. On June 5, 1953, he married Evelyn Mooney, who died October 29, 1986. He married Janet ‘Jan' (Wieging) Lenhart June 17, 1989. She survives in Lima. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Gerry (Ralph) Mueller of Landeck; nieces and nephews, Heidi (PJ) Zimmer, Dan (Barb) Mueller, Dave (Audrey) Mueller, and Father Eric Mueller; great nieces and nephews, whom Paul loved as grandchildren, Curtis, Melanie, and Joshua Mueller, Hannah, Caleb, and Benjamin Mueller, Madelyn, Traynor, Connor, and Aiden Zimmer. He was also preceded in death by his baby sister, Mary Jane. His Legacy.... Paul started school in Tiffin until the age of ten, when he attended St. John's School in Lima. Paul served in the United States Army at the Nurenburg Crime Trials, and another tour in the Korean War. He worked at Swift Dairy, Davis Enamel, and Lima Memorial Hospital. Paul retired from Lima Convalescent where he had worked for 29 years. Paul was a man of integrity, good work ethics, and respect for all of God's creation. He loved and was loved by all. Music, church, socializing, reading, traveling, animals, and flowers were favorites of his. He was always grateful and never stopped saying "thank you." His Farewell Services.... Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 7, 2018 at St. Charles Catholic Church, Lima, the Rev. Eric Mueller with Rev. Kent Kaufman will be officiating. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Ottoville, with military honors conducted by Delphos Veterans Council. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday with a Parish Wake Service held at 6:00 p.m. at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Marys Cemetery, Ottoville, St. Rita's Hospice or to a charity of the donor's choice.
