Paul T. Grothause

Paul T. Grothause, 73, of Delphos, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at his home surrounded by his loving family. His Family.... He was born March 7, 1943 in Delphos to Richard "RJ" and Marie E. (Krieft) Grothause, who both preceded him in death. On May 2, 1964 he married Marcia Spieles. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marcia Grothause of Delphos; four sons, Dan (Sue) Grothause of St. Marys, Dennis (Wendy) Grothause of Wapak, Bill (Shelly) Grothause of St. Marys and Kevin (Melissa) Grothause of Ottawa; two brothers, Nub (Dorothy) Grothause and Mike (Pat) Grothause, both of Delphos; two sisters, Helen Kaverman and Beth (Larry) Metzger, both of Delphos; ten grandchildren, Jay, Mickie, Marcie, Alexis, Colin, Courtney, Michael, Kaelyn, Alivia and Benjamin; two sisters-in-law, Mary Grothause of Delphos and Jean Grothause of Ft. Jennings; and his dog, Sissy. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Hubert and Jim Grothause. His Legacy.... Paul was a self-employed mechanic at Paul's Auto Service in Ft. Jennings and Grand Lake Auto Service in St. Marys. He could fix anything. In retirement he worked for All Temp Refrigeration. Paul truly enjoyed fishing, camping and tinkering in his shop. He loved following his boys and grandchildren in their sports and other activities, being their biggest fan. His Farewell Services.... Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 11 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Rev. Dennis Walsh officiating. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Friday at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos, where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Paul did not wear suits, the family requests you come casual.
