Norma Marie Trentman, age 83, of Delphos, passed away Saturday evening, November 1, 2014 at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center surrounded by her loving family. Her Family.... She was born November 11, 1930 in Delphos to the late Arthur and Agnes (Gengler) Rode, Sr. On September 6, 1952 she married John A. Trentman who survives in Delphos. She is also survived by seven children: Helen (Paul) Dorsten of Dayton, Marilyn (Ted) Kerner of Delphos, Michael (Valerie) Trentman of Cincinnati, Karen (Tom) Martin of Elida, Jean (Tony) Sroufe of Elida, Roger (Diane) Trentman of Ft. Jennings and Kevin (Leslie) Trentman of Ft. Jennings; sixteen grandchildren, Matt (Rebecca) Dorsten, Andrea (Eric) Munn, Eric (Lisa) Kerner, Lisa (Chris) Herron, Becky Trentman, Liz Trentman, Jen (Nate) Moore, Julie (Jason) Booth, Andrew (Kristin) Sroufe, Brian (Christine) Sroufe, Renee (Steve) Jacquemin, Travis (Melinda) Trentman, Bradley Trentman, Lindsey Trentman, Luke Trentman and Nick Trentman; eleven great-grandchildren with three on the way; brothers and sisters, Monica (Don) Miller, Dorothy (Nub) Grothause, Art Rode Jr., Sr. Toni Rode and Ron (Mary Lou) Rode; in-laws, Don and Donnie Trentman. She was also preceded in death by granddaughter, Melissa Trentman; a brother, Jerome Rode; brothers-in-law, HH (Red) Koester and James Trentman; sisters-in-law, Mary Trentman and Pat Rode. Her Legacy.... Norma was a homemaker who loved to cook and garden. She was an active member of Delphos St. John Catholic Church, active in the choir and as a Eucharistic Minister. She was a 1948 graduate of St. John's. She was a volunteer in the Mom's Room at school and at the Interfaith Thrift Shop. Her Farewell Services.... Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Rev. Dave Reinhart officiating. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 with a Parish Wake Service at 2:00 p.m.; and 1 hour prior to the service on Thursday, at Strayer Funeral Home, 1840 E.
