On this day June 30, 2025, our loving sister, Marjorie M. (Saum) Jacobs, has answered our Lords request to come home.
Marjorie was born on April 25, 1960 to Gerald F. and Annabelle M. (Ernst) Saum. She is survived by brothers Joseph L. (Rebecca) Saum of Delphos, and Steven G. (Elizabeth) Saum of Myrtle Beach, SC. Also surviving is a sister, Cynthia A. (Saum) (David) Suever, of Gomer.
Marjorie has had the loving support of eight nieces and nephews, thirteen great nieces and nephews and adopted stepson Ryan Hazenfratz and family of Van Wert.
Marjorie attended Fort Jennings High School where she excelled in the academic and music programs, which led her to attend St. Vincent’s School of Nursing in Toledo, realizing her life long dream of becoming a Registered Nurse. Marjorie started her career in Houston Texas, later transferring to work at St. Rita's Hospital in Lima.
Marjorie was an avid seamstress owning a sewing boutique in Van Wert where she performed her sewing magic on numerous wedding gowns, bridal dresses and prom dresses. She loved spending time at quilting shows, spending many hours working on quilts for her nieces and nephews.
Marjorie was an active member of the St. John’s Evangelist Church, teaching the Catholic faith in the RCIA Program duties as a Eucharistic minister and acting as the vestment care manager.
She loved spending time with family and friends, often organizing and running various family reunions and events. Music was a big part of Marjorie’s life, playing several instruments and listening to all genres of music, especially her favorite, Bon Jovi.
Along with her sewing prowess, she was an excellent baker who made and decorated numerous wedding and graduation cakes.
Visitation for Marjorie will be held at the Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos on Sunday July 6th from 2-7 PM. A CL of C memorial service will begin at 6:45 PM, followed by the Parish Wake Service.
The Funeral Mass will be on Monday July 7th beginning at 10:00 AM in the St. John’s Evangelist Church, burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation also to Wounded Warriors.
