Marianne M. Schimmoeller, 90, of Ft. Jennings, passed away Sunday morning, June 21, 2026 at The Meadows of Kalida surrounded by her loving family.
She was born January 7, 1936 in Ottoville to Leo C. and Louella (Martin) Kortokrax. On June 8, 1957 she married Jacob Schimmoeller who survives in Ft. Jennings.
Marianne is also survived by sons, Ed (Deb) Schimmoeller, and Ted (Joyce) Schimmoeller both of Ft. Jennings; daughters, Lynn (Chris) Phillips of Kalida, and Lorie (Jeff) Schroeder of Hicksville; a brother, Jerry (Bea) Kortokrax of Lima; sister, Unalee Kious of Ottoville; grandchildren, Kyle and Cory Schimmoeller, Kari Izor, Dana Phillips, Chelsie DeWees, Megan O’Berry, Rachel Fleming, Micah Schroeder, and Kenzie Schroeder; and great-grandchildren, Bailey, Cora and Lincoln Izor, Henry and Mary Schimmoeller, Wesley O’Berry, and Liam Fleming.
She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Billy Joe Schimmoeller; a brother, Richard (Donna) Kortokrax; a brother-in-law, Arch Kious; and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Kortokrax.
Marianne had worked at Maag’s Market in Ottoville until she married, then worked at Ft. Jennings Phone Company. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and its Altar Rosary Society. She enjoyed traveling, boating, camping, playing and watching sports, sewing, crocheting, quilting, and gardening. After retirement they wintered in Florida for 15 years. She dearly loved being a homemaker, and was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to The Meadows of Kalida nursing staff and Putnam County Hospice staff.
A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 25, 2026 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 24 at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos, where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Putnam County Homecare and Hospice. Online condolences may be shared at weberfh.net.
