Karen Ardner Murray

DELPHOS

Karen J. Ardner Murray, 64, of Delphos, passed away Thursday January 18, 2024 at her residence.

She was born December 12, 1959 in Mercer County to Jerrold E. Wannemacher and Virginia K.(Tippie) Domin and they along with her stepfather Richard Domin preceded her in death. On May 12, 1984 she married John W. Ardner who preceded her in death on March 15, 2002. She then married Mike Murray on August 23, 2008 and he survives in Delphos.

Karen is survived by two sons, Nolan (Carey) Ardner of Seymour, TN and Shawn (Jennifer) Ardner of Delphos; and a stepson, Kyle (Lyndsey) Stires of Columbus; six grandchildren, Alexis, Lydia, Isaac, Hudson, Madison Ardner and Lauren Neumeier. She is also survived by her siblings, Kimberly (Dennis) Neal of Columbus, Kenneth (Jacqueline – Deceased) Wannemacher of Canton, OH, Kathleen (Greg Berquist) Greaves of Delphos and Michael Domin of Delphos; and her stepmother, Phyllis Taylor of Colorado.

Karen babysat for many area families over the years and truly cherished all of those kids. She then worked in several area restaurants before the family of John decided to open up Johnny A’s in Delphos to honor her husband and the boys’ father. They ran it for several years. After Johnny A’s closed she moved to Columbus and managed Murray Dental Ceramics until retiring in 2020. Her and Mike then moved back to Delphos. She recently joined St. Peter Lutheran Church and really enjoyed her weekly prayer group. She was a plant lover and truly had a very green thumb giving away starts to everyone. She was a great organizer of all things. She was a 1989 semi-finalist in the Mrs. Ohio Pageant.

Friends may call on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. and from 9:30 -10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos.

A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 422 N. Pierce St. Delphos, Rev. Carol Pretorius officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family to start an education fund for her grandchildren in her memory.
