John 'Ted' T. Warnecke

John T. ‘Ted’ Warnecke, 74, of Delphos, passed away Sunday morning, December 12, 2021 at The Meadows of Delphos.

He was born March 16, 1947, in Lima to Paul and Dorothy (Minning) Warnecke who both preceded him in death. On November 22, 1969, he married Mary Jo (Pohlman) Warnecke who survives in Delphos.

Ted is also survived by his sons, Scott (Penny) Warnecke of Brighton, MI and Chad Warnecke of Delphos; a daughter, Kelly (Adam) Dunlap of Tippecanoe; a brother, Steve (Amy) Warnecke of Delphos; a sister, Alice (Dave) Wieging of Fort Jennings; brothers-in-law, Tom Pohlman and Ed (Betty) Pohlman, both of Delphos; grandchildren, Matthew Warnecke, Andrew Warnecke, Libby Dunlap and Kennedy Dunlap; aunts, nieces, nephews and many cousins.

Ted was also preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Judy Pohlman.

Ted was a 1965 graduate of Delphos St. John’s. He was a retired meat cutter, having worked at Pangles and Rays for more than 30 years. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. He was a former member of Delphos Coon and Sportsman Club, a lifetime member of the NRA, and a member of Eagles Aerie #471. Ted loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved being outdoors and was an avid fisherman and gardener. He enjoyed having beagles as hunting dogs and pets. He looked forward to fishing trips with his kids and grandkids, and loved sharing his knowledge of fishing and hunting with the youth. Ted will be missed by his dog ‘Buster’.

A Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 20 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

Visitation will be from 1:00-5:00 p.m. on Sunday at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos, where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Visitation will also be 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
