Janice Marie (Schwab) Sisinger, 86, of Delphos, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 4, 2026.
Janice was born December 12, 1939 to William and Geraldine Schwab, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Leonard Schwab and Richard Schwab.
On June 25, 1960, she married the love of her life, Floyd “Skip” Eugene Sisinger, and together they shared a beautiful life built on faith, hard work, and family. Skip also lovingly taught Janice how to farm, a skill she carried with pride throughout her life.
She is survived by her loving husband, Skip; her two daughters, Denise (Bill) Hanlin of Elida, and Dana (Douglas) Gillespie of Ashland; her six grandchildren, Janice (Jason) Davis, Leslie (Brocton) Zimmerman, Adam (Brittany) Hemker, Curt (Whitney) Gillespie, Brandon (Haley) Hemker, and Audra (Carter) Brown; and her fifteen great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her siblings, Nancy Featheringill, June Stone, Buddy Schwab, and Donna Wheitman.
Janice was a faithful member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Delphos. Her life was centered around her family, whom she loved deeply and cared for with unwavering devotion. She took great pride in spoiling her daughters and grandchildren, always making sure they were well cared for and that every gathering felt warm, special, and complete.
Her grandchildren knew they could always count on Grandma for one of her famous club sandwiches. If she ever mentioned she was out of her homemade buckeyes or shrimp, somehow more would magically appear. Jan was especially known for her cherry pies and pecan pies, which became treasured favorites at family gatherings.
She enjoyed sewing, spending time at the casinos with Skip, cheering on the Delphos St. John’s Blue Jays, and playing golf. One of her greatest joys was teaching her grandchildren how to line dance, creating memories that will be cherished for years to come.
When family members played cards or games with Jan, they quickly learned her favorite playful complaint—that she “always got the bad cards”—a saying that became one of her many endearing trademarks and always brought laughter to those around her.
Janice will be remembered for her generous heart, her sense of humor, and her lifelong devotion to her family. She had a gift for making everyone feel welcomed, cared for, and loved. Her legacy is one of kindness, tradition, and unconditional love.
She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 9 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos, where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:45 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be shared at weberfh.net.
