Harold J. 'Harry' Liebrecht

DELPHOS – Harold J. ‘Harry’ Liebrecht, age 102, of Delphos, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born September 10, 1922 in Ottoville to Lawrence and Frances (Shumaker) Liebrecht, who both preceded him in death. On December 19, 1944 he married Helen (Kimmet) Liebrecht who preceded him in death on December 24, 2003.

Harry is survived by two sons, Thomas (Patricia) Liebrecht of Ft. Jennings and Michael (Laura) Liebrecht of Angola, Indiana; a daughter, Linda (Thomas) Noonan of Delphos; three brothers, Cleo Liebrecht of Ottawa, Joseph (JoAnn) Liebrecht of Delphos and Jerry (Jennifer) Liebrecht of Peoria, Arizona; two sisters, Mary Ann Michel of Ottawa and Carol (Gerald) Fischer of Delphos; eleven grandchildren, Scott(Peg) Noonan, Russ and Ryan Noonan, Nicole Addington, Zach(Rhonda)Liebrecht Kyle Liebrecht, Tara(Jason) Deters, Wesley(Brooke) Liebrecht, Bradly(Ashley)Liebrecht, Ashley(John)Fawcett, Kellie(Wes) Peterson; 20 great-grandchildren and five great great grandchildren; and a special friend, Ruth Baldauf-Liebrecht.

He was also preceded in death two brothers, Eugene and Robert Liebrecht; and a sister, Alvera Ernst, brother-in-law Dick Michel and a sister-in-law Doris Liebrecht.

Harry was a tool and die maker, working at job shops and then working at Chrysler in Van Wert. He served his country in the Army during World War II. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Harry was a member of the Delphos Veterans Council doing graveside military rites, a member of the VFW 3035, AmVets #698 Middle Point, and the Knights of Columbus Council 1362.

A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2025 St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.  Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery with military honors conducted by Delphos Veterans Council.

Visitation will be from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos, where a K of C Rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. a Parish Wake Service will follow.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s School or the American Huey 369, or the Honor Flight.
