Grace C Morris

Grace Catherine Morris, 88 , of Delphos, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was born September 5, 1934 in Lima to Richard and Loretta (Gerdeman) Wagner, who both preceded her in death. On September 11, 1954 she married William ‘Bill’ Morris who preceded her in death on November 22, 2010.

Grace is survived by a son, Wayne (Christina) Morris of Hilliard; four daughters, Janet (David) Donaldson of Delphos, Karen Morris of Delphos, Anita (Doug) Sorrell of Spencerville and Bev (Tom) Berelsman of Ft. Jennings;  five grandchildren, Nicole (Jesse) Rushing, Scott (Anna) Sorrell, Matt Berelsman, Jacob Berelsman and K.C. Morris; seven great-grandchildren, Zooey, Zeva and Dominic Sorrell, Luke, Aiden, Isabella and Nora Rushing; sisters-in-law, Sue Wagner, Marilyn Wagner and Arlene Wagner; brothers-in-law, Richard Nichols, Keith Foust and Ronald Hageman.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Kathleen Morris; a grandchild, Ashley Berelsman; three brothers, Ralph, Harold and Ron Wagner; a sister, Helen Nichols; sisters-in-law, Mary Wagner, Betty Foust and Marjorie Hageman.

Grace was a 1952 graduate of St. John’s High School. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters of America and the Delphos Eagles Women’s Auxiliary. She had worked at Pitsenbarger Auto Supply, retiring in August of 1997 after 35 years of service. Grace enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. She also enjoyed going to Cheyboygan, Michigan and visiting her brother Ralph at his cottage.

The family would like to thank the caregivers that helped throughout the day, Mary Ricker, Amy Miller, Kaitlyn Titus, Linda Miller and Salina Hurles Their care and thoughtfulness will always be remembered. Mr. and Mrs. Roger Schlereth for being the best neighbors Mom could ever have. Dennis Hickey, for his help anytime Mom needed assistance, and to Elaine Evans, for bringing Communion every Sunday. We also would like to thank Doctors Westrick and Bontrager and their staff for the care they gave Mom during her illness. A special thanks to CHP of Delphos – Visiting Nurses and Hospice—you made a difficult time so much easier.

A Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 21 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 20 at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos, where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer Foundation, St. John Catholic School and to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
