Gerald E. "Bugs" Williams, age 80, of Delphos, passed away Friday evening, June 26, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. His Family.... He was born October 12, 1934 in Delphos to the late Erwin "Buss" and Edith (Kimmet) Williams. On July 29, 1953 he married Mary Lou (Picker) Williams in Edenton, North Carolina at St. Ann's Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Lou Williams; four children, Jane (Tim) Koester of Ottoville, Tom (Peggy) Williams of Delphos, Jeffrey Williams of Powell, Ohio, and Mike (Teresa) Williams of Delphos; seven grandchildren, Adam (Natalie) Koester, Amanda (Francis) Laibe, Jason (Katrina) Williams, Tyler Williams, Blake Williams, Michaela Williams, and Tanner Williams; three great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Sydney Koester, and Madalyn Laibe; a brother, Ken (Bev)Williams of Lima; a sister-in-law, Betty Harner of St. Mary's, Ohio; two brothers-in-law, Gerald Picker of Lima and Donald Picker of Delphos. He was also preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Barbara Jean Williams; a brother, Richard Lee Williams; four sisters-in-law, Louise Williams, Junella Picker, Margaret Picker, and Delores Picker; two brothers-in-law, Ralph Harner and Carl "Duke" Picker. His Legacy.... Gerald worked and retired from Norfolk & Southern Railroad for 40 years as brakeman and conductor. He was a 1952 graduate of Delphos St. John's. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps as an airplane mechanic from September 1952 to September 1955 during the Korean War. He was a member of Delphos St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and Delphos Coon and Sportsman Club. Upon retiring, he loved to travel, especially out west. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His Farewell Services.... Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Father Dennis Walsh officiating. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Delphos Veterans Council. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. with a Parish Wake Service at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Strayer Funeral Home.
