George Bockey

George Bockey, 61, of Delphos, passed away Saturday morning, February 17, 2018, at Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center surrounded by his loving family. George was born October 30, 1956 in Lima to Cletus J. and Josephine K. (Sager) Bockey. His father preceded him in death, his mother survives in Delphos. On April 1, 1978, he married Karen (Siebeneck) Bockey, who survives in Delphos. He is also survived by three daughters, Lianne (Wade) Pohlman, and Laura (Brian) McDaniel, both of Delphos, and Kathy (Christopher) Spangler of Oak Harbor; a brother, Edward ‘Chip' (Justina) Bockey of Delphos; two sisters, Dorothy Schroeder of Glandorf and Elaine (Thomas) Evans of Delphos; a brother-in-law, Eugene Lauf of Middle Point; and six grandchildren, Cheyenne, Isabella, Pippa and Harper Pohlman, and Chloe and Austin McDaniel. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Pamela Lauf; and a brother-in-law, Lynn Schroeder. George was a farmer and self-employed truck driver. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles 2234 in Ottawa. George was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed fishing, especially the annual fishing trip with his brother and friends in Canada. He enjoyed spending time in his shop on the farm. He loved his family dearly, and time spent with them. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 21 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Tuesday at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos, where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center or to a charity of the donor's choice.
