Floyd “Skip” Eugene Sisinger, 84, of Delphos, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 27, 2026.
Skip was born on November 9, 1941, to William and Doris June (Ewing) Sisinger, who both preceded him in death. His beloved mother lovingly gave him the nickname “Skip” at birth, a name that remained with him throughout his life.
On June 25, 1960, he married the love of his life, Janice Schwab. Together they shared a devoted marriage built on love, family, and partnership until her passing on July 4, 2026. Their enduring commitment and deep affection for one another created a strong foundation for the family they raised together.
He is survived by his daughters, Denise (William) Hanlin of Elida and Dana (Douglas) Gillespie of Ashland; six grandchildren, Janice (Jason) Davis, Leslie (Brocton) Zimmerman, Adam (Brittany) Hemker, Curtis (Whitney) Gillespie, Brandon (Haley) Hemker, and Audra (Carter) Brown; and fifteen cherished great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his sister, Janice (Dennis) Wilson; sisters-in-law, Cheryl (Daryl) Sisinger, Nancy Featheringill, June Stone, Donna Wheitman; and brother-in-law, Buddy Schwab, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Sisinger; his parents, William and Doris June (Ewing) Sisinger; his sister and brother-in-law, Diane and James Lowery; his brother, Daryl Sisinger; brothers-in-law, Leonard Schwab, Richard Schwab, Ron Featheringill, Ron Stone, Dennis Wilson, and other loved ones who welcomed him into eternal rest.
Skip will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to family, strong work ethic, love of farming, passion for sports, and the kindness he extended to so many throughout his life. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished and the countless lives he touched. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will remain a source of comfort, laughter, and inspiration for all who knew and loved him.
Skip spent much of his life involved in farming, embracing the values of hard work, dedication, and stewardship of the land. In 1972, he moved his family to Delphos when he accepted the position of General Manager of The Equity Elevator, Inc. Through his leadership, commitment, and steady guidance, he helped shape the organization for more than three decades, earning the respect of colleagues, employees, and the community he served. After retiring from the elevator, he joined D & D Grain, where he found great joy in working with the horses and traveling to pick up tools, feed ingredients, and anything else the company needed. He took pride in being able to lend a hand wherever he was needed.
Outside of work, Skip enjoyed spending time on the golf course and was a loyal fan of the Cleveland Indians, The Ohio State Buckeyes, and St. John’s Bluejay athletics. Whether cheering on his favorite teams or sharing stories with friends and family, Skip's enthusiasm and sense of humor were always present. Above all else, Skip was a family man. Long before the phrase became popular, he was the original “girl dad,” devoted to ensuring his daughters had every opportunity to succeed and always knew how deeply they were loved. His greatest joy came from watching his family grow through the generations and celebrating their accomplishments.
