Elizabeth J. Ricker

Elizabeth J. ‘Betty’ (Wurst) Ricker, 89, of Delphos, passed away early Saturday morning, February 12, 2022 at her home with her loving family at her side.

Betty was born October 25, 1932 in Ft. Jennings to Ferd and Martha (Ricker) Lucke, who both preceded her in death. She was married to Rudy Wurst, who passed away October 22, 1994. On October 20, 2001 she married Hubert L. ‘Rick’ Ricker, who survives in Delphos.

She is survived by six sons, Steven (Jeanie) Wurst of Georgia, Joe (Letitia) Wurst of Tennessee, Tony (Jill) Wurst of Solon, Andy (Shellie) Wurst of Delphos, Tom (Amy) Wurst of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and Phil (Teresa) Wurst of Ft. Jennings; five daughters, Theresa (Clem) Osting of Florida, Mary Ann (Kim) Buzard of Florida, Carol (David) Till of New Haven, Indiana, Christine (Michael) Hosford of New Carlisle, Ohio and Sarah (Kenneth) Franks of Texas; a son-in-law, Dennis Atterberry of Delphos; five sisters, Wilma Humpert of Delphos, Josie (Arnold) Mohler of Delphos, Norma Burgei of Ottoville, Karen (Larry) Heitmeyer of Ft. Jennings and Doris (Art) Neidert of Ft. Jennings; 29 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren and 3 on the way. Other survivors include all of Rick’s children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Laura Atterberry; brothers, Donald Lucke, John Lucke and Elmer Lucke; sisters, Vera (Leonard) Menke, Alice (Raphael) Fischbach and Sister Mary Ann Lucke, S.S.F.; brothers-in-law, Bob Humpert and Tom Burgei.

Betty had worked at K/P Industries for 21 years. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Catholic Ladies of Columbia Delphos Council 40, Eagles Aerie #471. She volunteered at the Interfaith Thrift Shop. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, sewing, and quilting. Above all, she loved spending time with her family.

A Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 17, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.  Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16 at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos, where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:45 p.m.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita’s Hospice.  Online condolences may be shared at www.weberfh.net.
