Eileen M. Bonifas

Eileen M. Bonifas, 92, of Delphos, passed away Tuesday morning, February 6, 2024 at The Meadows of Delphos Assisted Living.

She was born March 21, 1931 in Delphos to the late William P. and Angela E. (Picker) Bonifas.

She is survived by nieces and nephews, Elizabeth (Ralph) Hunt, Carol (Jerome) Bendele, James (Anita) Kaverman, Linda (Rod) Moser, Gerard (Linda) Kaverman, Marie Kaverman, Angela Kaverman and Janice Kaverman; 11 great-nieces and nephews; and numerous great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Melvin Bonifas; two sisters, Rosella Bonifas and Esther (Eugene) Kaverman; and a nephew, Joseph (Marlene) Kaverman.

Eileen was a bookkeeper for Tri-County Hardware for over 45 years and Tri-County Do-it Center for 14 years. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She graduated in 1949 from Delphos St. John’s and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Regent for four years and held many other CD of A offices. She was an avid Blue Jay and Notre Dame fan. She enjoyed knitting, reading and cross-stitch.

A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 10 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.  Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 9 at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos, where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:00 p.m.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Parish Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
