DELPHOS – Donald E. Kundert, 87, of Delphos, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at his home with his loving family at his side.
He was born June 22, 1938 in Delphos to Eugene J. and Edith (Ringwald) Kundert who both preceded him in death. On April 11, 1959 he married Judith (Truesdale) Kundert who survives in Delphos.
Don is survived by a daughter, Laura (Larry) Menke of Delphos; sons, Gregory (Jennifer) Kundert of Delaware, and Mark E. Kundert of Columbia City, IN; grandchildren, Jessica Menke, Nicholas Menke, Adam Calvelage, Brooke Ebel-Bloom, Megan Kundert, Lee E. Kundert, and Anna Marie Kundert; great-grandchildren, Colton Menke, Ella Menke, Keller Calvelage, Justice Sparks, Journee Sparks, Olin Kundert, Brenley Davis, Owen Ebel and Phoenix Kundert.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lynne Kundert Calvelage, a sister, Diane (Robert) Rigdon; and a daughter-in-law, Shelly Kundert.
Don was a retired after 42 years from Ford Engine Plant where he had worked as cutter grinder. He had a passion for photography and was a wedding photographer for many years. Always staying busy, he enjoyed working in his workshop doing woodworking, making things for his grandchildren. He enjoyed building Lego Kits, flying model airplanes, golfing, and doing yard work. When the yardwork was done, you could then find him on the patio.
He was a graduate of St. John’s High School and Chicago Institute of Drafting. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church; past member of the Delphos Jaycees, and held membership at Delphos Eagles Aerie 471. He was also a member of Welsh Society of Northwest Ohio, former member of the Larks Airplane Club, and charger member of the Jim’s Breakfast Table.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 followed by a memorial service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made the Alzheimer’s Association or to the donor’s choice.
