David C. Johnson, 71 of rural Ft. Jennings, Ohio passed away on July 19th, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. His Family...He was born on June 24, 1942 in Middleburg, Ohio to the late Charles E. and Gladys I. (Inskeep) Johnson. He married Lyn E. (Walp) Johnson on December 30, 1980 and she survives in rural Ft. Jennings. He is also survived by two children, Amanda (Ryan) Johnson Snyder and Jeremy Johnson; two sisters, Elinor (Leroy) Dowden and Nancy (Lyle) Boortz; three grandchildren, Kristine N. Johnson, Matthew B. Johnson and Nicholas J. Johnson. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Kristine A. Johnson; two brothers, Max Johnson and Frank Johnson; four sisters, Margaret (Paul) Ansley, Wilma (George) Pavlok, Mary Ann (Michael) Anoles & Juanita (Gay) Flaitz. His Legacy... David retired from CenturyLink. He was a member of Ft. Jennings American Legion Post 715 and Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Rushmore, Ohio. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1960 - 1964. He was a Police Officer in the Village of Fort Jennings from 1987 - 1990. He was a member of the Cairo Sportsman's Club. His hobbies included flying, shooting, reloading, motorcycling, boating, camping & rebuilding cars. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. His Farewell Services...Visitation will be from 2-4 & 5-7 p.m. on Friday July 26, 2013 at Strayer Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth Street, Delphos. A Celebration of David's Life will begin at 7 p.m. on July 26, 2013 at Strayer Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Morrison, officiating. Military Honors will be accorded by the Ft.
