Constance 'Connie' L. Wieging

May 18, 1939 — November 9, 2018

Constance ‘Connie' L. Wieging, 79, of Delphos, passed away Friday evening, November 9, 2018 at Mercy Health St. Rita's. She was born May 18, 1939 in Delphos to Paul and Pauline (Murray) Kill, who both preceded her in death. She had been married to Darrell Wieging. Connie is survived by two sons, Scott (Cheri) Wieging of Shawnee, and David Wieging of New Albany and Sue Wieging of Gahanna; two daughters, Dawn (Wayne) Ledyard, and Shannon (Scott) Jackson, both of Delphos; three brothers, Ted Kill, Steve (Barb) Kill, and Tom (Michele) Kill; two sisters, Joyce (Bob) Wittler, and Jane (Bob) Thitoff; and ten grandchildren: Aaron, Tyler and Noah Ledyard, Courtney and Derek Wieging, Cole, Mac and Lily Wieging, Kennedy and Keaton Jackson. Connie was born and raised in Delphos. She participated in band and was a lead in the class play "Showboat" in high school. She was a 1957 graduate of Delphos St. John's. She had worked at the Pizza Pantry in Delphos, Central Mutual Insurance in Van Wert, sold Avon, and finally was the evening secretary at the Delphos Herald, Inc. Upon her retirement she was a homemaker. Connie was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Delphos. In the earlier years, she was a member of the Delphos Mother's Club and the Delphos Lioness Club. She was also a member of the Delphos VFW and Eagles Aerie #471. She loved to crochet afghans and baby blankets, as well as read, listen to music, collect cookbooks, and attend Blue Jay sporting events. She was known for her famous "Texas Sheet Cake." One of her happiest moments was visiting Graceland to see where the "King" (Elvis) had been laid to rest. She also loved watching Lebron James play basketball no matter what time of the night the game was. Connie loved everything about Halloween, chocolate in general, but most importantly spending time with her four children and ten grandchildren. They were her pride and joy. The sentiment that her family will always remember about her was when you told her you loved her before you said goodbye she'd reply, "love you more." Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Rev. George Mahas officiating. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E.
