DELPHOS
Charles R. ‘Charlie’ Lozano, age 70, of Delphos passed away Saturday, January 3, 2026 at his residence.
He was born on August 24, 1955 in Lima to Ramiro and Louise (Leis) Lozano who both preceded him in death.
Charlie is survived by his brothers, Tony (Pam) Lozano of Delphos, and Daniel (Diane) Lozano of Leipsic; and his sister, Barb (Denny) Hesseling of Delphos; his nieces and nephews, Dustin (Taylor), Kory (Alyssa), and Reed (Haley) Hesseling, Kelsey (Thomas) Stanley, Jackie Hiegel, Tasha (Jeff) Knueven and Justin (Marisa) Kruse; and numerous great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Thomas Lozano.
Charlie was a 1973 graduate of Delphos St. John’s High School. He retired from Double A Trailer Sales in Delphos after 40 years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and bowler, having bowled a perfect 300. He was a huge sports fan, helping coach the Mohawks for over 30 years, also coached minor league baseball for years. He enjoyed all racing from local sprints to the Indy Series and NASCAR. For over 40 years Charlie barbecued chicken at the park for the Fourth of July celebration. Many people will always remember Charlie as the Jaycees Santa Claus for many years. He was a huge supporter of both Delphos High Schools over the years.
It was Charlie’s wish to be cremated. There will be no visitation or public service. There will be a private graveside service at Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to either of the Delphos high schools’ Athletic Booster programs in Charlie’s memory.
Weber Funeral Home was in charge of Charlie’s arrangements.
