Delphos

Brenda Mericle, age 87, of Delphos, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Brenda was born July 29, 1938 to the late George W. and Alma Rebecca(Kovacs) Stephey. On November 11, 1958 she married William R. ‘Bill’ Mericle and he preceded her in death on September 15, 1996.

She is survived by her daughters, Kelly J. Briggs of Delphos and Susan K. Fox of Rockford, her grandchildren; Nolan(Jackie) Mericle, Nicholas ‘Nick’ Mericle, Brelyn(Evan) Thomas, Bristin(Alex) Stewart, Korey Briggs, Kayla(Chad) Braun, Kimber(Jordan) Monnin, Grey Fox, Ryann(Stuart) Morehous. She was blessed with 12 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Susan Hathaway and brother David Stephey both of Flagler Beach, FL and a sister in law Beverly Carroll of Lima.

Brenda is preceded in death by two daughters, Diana Lynn ‘Dian’ Mericle – Kill, Patricia Ann(Trish) Mericle and her son Robert F. ‘Bob’ Mericle. Her sisters in law, Elaine Hartman and Carol Topp, brothers in law Dr. John Carroll and Tony Topp.

Brenda served in the United States Navy from 1957-1959. She then became a devoted wife and mother to her family. She had worked at the Wal Mart in Van Wert for 25 years. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting, making many afghans for her family and friends. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A funeral service for Brenda will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at the Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth Street, Delphos, Rev Kevin Hall officiating, burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Delphos. Friends may call on Monday, December 8, 2025 at Weber Funeral Home from 2:00-8:00 p.m.
