Mary Elizabeth (Betty Wannemacher) Weber, 94, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018. Her Family.... Betty was born September 21, 1923 in Ottoville to John L. and Catherine (Heckman) Wannemacher, who both preceded her in death. On May 29, 1948 she married Joseph E. Weber, who preceded her in death on May 8, 1998. She is survived by three daughters, Nancy (David) Ingleright of Lecanto, Florida, Kitty (Tom) Knapke of Cincinnati, and Michelle (Clark) Regnerus of Lake Worth, Florida; a brother, Jim (Ruth) Wannemacher of Ottoville; a sister, Jeanne Naveau of Coldwater; six grandchildren, Matt Knapke, Mark (Elizabeth) Knapke, Casey (Ian) Bishop, Kim (Dustin) LaFont, Kelly (Sergio) Recanati, and Jamie Rick; and six great-grandchildren, Aurora and Stella Bishop, Abram and Silas LaFont, and Mason and Vivienne Knapke. She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law Kenny Rick, a brother-in-law, Clair Naveau; and a grandson, Andrew Ingleright. Her Legacy.... Betty graduated Magna Cum Laude from Bowling State University. She taught at Chagrin Falls, Ohio and Ottoville. She received her Master's Degree from Bowling Green State University and became Ottoville schools' first guidance counselor. Betty started a kindergarten in Ottoville before there was one available in the public school. She received her post Master's Degree and became a school psychologist in Putnam County, serving Ottoville, Fort Jennings, and Kalida. She was also executive director of the Putnam County Board of Mental Health, living many years in Ottawa. In retirement, Betty taught part-time at a pre-school owned by two of her daughters and enjoyed playing bridge with her husband and friends. She was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Wellington, Florida. Her Farewell Services.... Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 6 at Immaculate Conception Church, Ottoville, with Rev. Jerry Schetter officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos, where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
