DELPHOS – Anne Leah Stegaman, 75, of Delphos, passed away Saturday morning, September 5, 2026 at Mercy Health St. Rita’s.

She was born August 28, 1951 in Van Wert County to Edmund and Rose Mary (Grothaus) Wurst who both preceded her in death.

Anne is survived by her children, daughter, Andrea (Eric Kramer) Shafer of Delphos; son, Dean (Jeanie Palmer) Stegaman of Van Wert; brother, Roch (Phoebe) Wurst of Philadelphia, PA.; sister, Marge (Marvin) Ricker of Ottoville; brother-in-law, Dick Stegaman of Van Wert; and sister-in-law, Carol Wurst of Ft. Wayne, IN. She is survived by her grandchildren, Carrisa (Jacob) Waitman, Mia Conley, Brandi and Riley Stegaman; and four great grandchildren, Aireanah, Oliver, Stella, and Lawson Waitman. She loved her cats Kiki and the ‘Little One’.

She was also preceded in death by a sister Mary Kay Stegaman, a brother Ron Wurst, and a Godson Curtis Anthony Stegaman.

Anne was a 1969 graduate of Delphos St. John’s and a 1971 graduate of the Lima School of Practical Nursing. After her nursing she worked for a time at St. Rita’s. When her kids were born, she paused her nursing career and became a fulltime mother and homemaker. She was very well known for her cake baking and decorating them for all occasions. Once her children began school she went back into nursing at the Delphos Memorial Home, now Vancrest, for over 23 years. With her love of nursing, she cared for her parents in their older years in their home until they passed. She was a big supporter of the Delphos Jefferson Band program, serving as the ‘band nurse’ for over 15 years. Anne was a very kind and caring person. Her prayer list for friends and family was extremely long and she prayed daily for all. She truly loved her grandkids and followed them in all their activities, she shared her love of baking with them, telling stories and singing. Even in death she was thinking of “Others” with the gift of tissue donation.
