Marie L. Honigford

Marie L. Honigford, 52, of Delphos, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2014, at her home. Her Family.... She was born May 1, 1962 in Lima to the late William H. and Mary Lou (Krendl) Strayer. On July 29, 2006 she married Dennis Honigford, who survives in Delphos. She is also survived by a step-son, Aaron Honigford of Delphos; a brother, William D. Strayer of Delphos; two sisters, Elizabeth ‘Beth' (Brad Scott) Maxwell of West Liberty and Marcia (Bryan) Boyd of Defiance; in-laws Steve Honigford, Tim Honigford and Bev (Tom) Jettinghoff, all of Delphos; a nephew, Nathan Boyd; a niece, Kelly Maxwell and a great-niece; and an aunt, Mary A. Krendl. She was also preceded in death by a step-daughter, Kimberly Honigford; father and mother-in-law, Jerome and Elizabeth Honigford; her aunts and uncles, Vera and Bill Loetz, Helen Koch and John ‘Jack' Krendl. Her Legacy.... Marie worked for over 20 years at Lincolnway Nursing Home, Van Wert. She was an excellent caregiver, with a very giving heart, reaching out to others in time of need. She did some home healthcare. She loved her nephew, Nathan, dearly, caring for him, wanting to give him a good start in life. She sponsored a child overseas through Child Fund. Marie loved the holidays, decorating was such a joy to her. She loved landscaping, growing flowers and sharing them. She was a good, loving person whose priority was her family and taking care of them. She will be missed by family and friends. She graduated from Delphos Jefferson in 1980. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Her Farewell Services.... Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 9 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Rev. Ron Schock officiating. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Monday at Strayer Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos, where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Child Fund or the Delphos Community Christmas Project.
